Understanding biological signals in a new way.
Diagnostics that reveal changes over time.
CARCIMUN combines the optical analysis of blood plasma with a differentiating Delta approach and the observation of biological changes over time. Together, these form a technology platform for developing new diagnostic and health-related applications.

A different view of blood.
Blood plasma contains a wide range of proteins and other biological components. Their composition and structure influence the optical properties of a sample.
CARCIMUN technology uses measurements of these optical properties as the basis for its protein-optical analysis.
The focus is not on identifying individual genetic alterations, but on evaluating a distinct optical signal from processed blood plasma.
CARCIMUN thus pursues a complementary technological approach to investigating biological changes.
Three steps. One technological foundation.
-
Blood sample
Processed EDTA plasma forms the basis of the optical measurement. Defined sample preparation establishes the conditions for comparable measurements.
-
Delta approach
Optical measurements under two defined conditions are further evaluated by calculating the difference between them. The aim is a more differentiated assessment of the measured signals.
-
Longitudinal interpretation
Repeated measurements are intended to reveal changes relative to individual baseline values over time and support their further interpretation.
Differentiating, not just measuring.
Biological signals can be influenced by a variety of processes. Inflammation and factors related to sample processing can also affect optical measurement results.
The Delta approach extends the core technology by evaluating two defined measurement conditions.
This additional perspective is intended to support a more differentiated investigation of the various influences on the measurement signal.
The scientific assessment of this approach is an essential part of further technological development.

Change opens the way to new insights.
A single measurement describes a particular point in time. Comparison with later measurements can reveal individual changes that a one-off assessment cannot capture.
CARCIMUN aims to evaluate repeated measurements systematically, making individual changes easier to understand and track.
Changes in a signal over time are intended to be interpreted within the relevant medical or health-related context, rather than in isolation.
The longitudinal perspective is therefore an important part of the further development of the CARCIMUN technology platform.

Science is the foundation.
A reliable diagnostic application requires reproducible measurements, defined testing conditions and a transparent assessment of biological factors that may influence the results.
Scientific investigations of the underlying technology provide a foundation for the further development of the CARCIMUN platform.
The focus is on advancing the measurement methodology, ensuring data quality and comparability, and investigating its informative value in suitable application contexts.
Research, technical development and scientific validation are intended to be systematically linked.
One platform. Different perspectives.
The core technology forms the shared foundation for CARCIMUN's different development directions.
These include cancer monitoring, HealthMarker for health-related applications and the MCED Gatekeeper concept.
The individual focus areas pursue different objectives. Their shared technological basis opens up perspectives for a versatile diagnostic platform.
