From technology
to application.

The platform brings together measurement methods, Delta evaluation and data processing. AI-assisted individual baselines are intended to extend this foundation in the future and make it useful for different applications.

01 / Cancer monitoring

Keeping track
of change.

Application rationale

During treatment and follow-up care, it is important to understand how an individual's clinical course evolves. Repeated measurements are intended to add to this temporal perspective and make changes relative to a personal baseline easier to track.

The aim is to provide additional guidance for clinical interpretation and targeted further investigation.

Development status

Priority clinical application pathway

The developed blood-test platform provides the starting point. Further development and validation for cancer monitoring are the focus.

Application outlook

Treatment support and follow-up care

Closer observation of biological changes is intended to complement clinical care. Imaging and further diagnostic assessment remain part of the overall medical picture.

02 / HealthMarker

Health.
A personal perspective.

Application rationale

HealthMarker applies the platform concept to a health-related, preventive perspective. The focus is on how a person's biological signals change over longer periods.

An individual baseline is intended to serve as a personal reference point. This opens up the prospect of health guidance that takes greater account of the individual's course over time.

Development status

Health-related development pathway

HealthMarker is designed as a distinct extension of the platform. This development pathway centres on the combination of repeated measurements, a personal baseline and digital analysis.

Application outlook

Closer to everyday life

Miniaturisation and the future development of point-of-care measurement systems are intended to bring diagnostic applications closer to everyday life. AI-assisted analysis is intended to compare measurement results with individual baselines, identify changes over time and automatically notify the treating care team when notable deviations occur.

03 / MCED Gatekeeper

Guidance.
Before the next step.

Application rationale

The Gatekeeper concept aims to provide easily accessible cancer screening that indicates possible cancers and is intended to help assess the extent of the cancer burden in the populations examined. On this basis, abnormal findings are to undergo targeted further investigation, and any necessary medical action is to be taken.

A particular focus is on emerging and developing countries, where diagnostic services are often available only to a limited extent. There, screening is intended to provide an accessible first step towards early cancer detection and to be integrated into structured pathways to further medical care.

Development status

A distinct application concept

The Gatekeeper role is conceived as a further platform pathway. Its suitability and integration into different healthcare structures are subjects of further development and validation.

Application outlook

Expanding access to diagnostics

Particularly in healthcare systems with limited resources, this opens up the prospect of a more accessible first step – linked to a structured pathway to further investigation.

04 / Molecular research

Thinking ahead.
To the molecular level.

Application rationale

The molecular perspective broadens the scientific view of the platform. It focuses on biological relationships that could give rise to additional diagnostic approaches over the long term.

Development status

Research and early-stage development

This field is at an early stage of development. The focus is on scientific exploration and the assessment of potential future applications.

Application outlook

New insights are intended to deepen understanding of the platform and open up potential extensions. The molecular field is therefore part of CARCIMUN's long-term perspective.
